Before they were The Band, they were The Hawks — and in 1965, Bob Dylan recruited them for the most controversial tour in rock history. That partnership produced some of the most influential recordings in American music.

BEfore the flood (1974)

Recorded during Bob Dylan and The Band's legendary 1974 reunion tour — the most successful rock tour in history at the time. Dylan's first live album captures the raw electricity of 40 sold-out shows, with The Band turning classics like "Like a Rolling Stone" and "All Along the Watchtower" into arena-shaking anthems. Critics called it "one of the best live albums ever."

THE BASEMENT TAPES (1975)

In the summer of 1967, after Dylan's motorcycle accident, he and The Band retreated to the basement of a pink house in Woodstock, New York. What emerged — over 100 songs recorded on a home reel-to-reel — would become the most legendary bootleg in rock history and the foundation for Americana music. Songs like "I Shall Be Released" and "This Wheel's on Fire" were covered by dozens of artists before this official release finally appeared eight years later.

Dylan also joined The Band for their legendary Last Waltz farewell concert in 1976, performing "Forever Young" and "I Shall Be Released."

PLANET WAVES (1974)

Dylan's first No. 1 album in America, and his only full studio collaboration with all five members of The Band. Recorded over just three days in Los Angeles, the sessions reunited the group that had backed Dylan on his controversial 1966 electric tour. Features "Forever Young," written for his children, and the dark, confessional "Dirge."
